# BriefAuthority pricing

**Free. No account.** BriefAuthority is live at https://briefauthority.com/table-of-authorities-generator. Open it in any modern browser (verified in Chrome and Safari) on a Mac or Windows. No sign-up, no install, no Word add-in, no card. There are no paid plans today.

What you get, free:

- **Final PDF:** page references from the pages as filed, including roman-numeral front matter; exports a finished .docx table of authorities.
- **Scanned PDF:** read with on-device OCR (Tesseract, WebAssembly) in the browser, about 1–1.5 seconds per page; nothing is uploaded.
- **Word .docx:** writes Word's own TA field codes (and a TOA field after the TABLE OF AUTHORITIES heading) so Word for Windows builds and updates the table.
- **Review screen:** every authority with its pages and a PDF preview of each citation; edit, merge, re-categorise, exclude, add missing, remove a wrong page, undo.
- **Export:** formatted .docx (category headings, dot leaders, hanging indents, italic case names) or copy as text.
- **26 court presets:** Supreme Court, the federal circuits, California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, Oregon and a generic preset; each sets the heading and whether passim is allowed.
